Chocolate Strawberry Truffles

02.14.20

Making these Chocolate Strawberry truffles is waayyy easier than you think!! All you need 5 ingredients and a little bit of time.

The thought of making your own chocolate truffle sounds fancy and difficult, but they are super easy to make and don’t require any special gadgets. Obviously, you can make chocolate truffles that require much more skill and attention to detail, but these will satisfy that craving!

One of the great things about this recipe is how versatile it is. Using the same base truffle recipe, you can add whatever toppings you want! Just substitute your favorite topping for the freeze-dried strawberries! Because I’m easily satisfied with simple things (plus being a chocoholic), I would suggest cocoa powder! but anything from nuts, to sprinkles will work.

Ingredients

2 – 4 ounce quality chocolate bars, finely chopped

2/3 cup heavy cream Find It

1 Tablespoon butter, room temperature

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup freeze-dried strawberries crushed into powder

Instructions

  1. Place chocolate in a heat proof bowl.
  2. Heat heavy cream until simmering.
  3. Add heavy cream and butter to chocolate. Let sit for 5 minutes, then add the vanilla and stir until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  4. Use a spoon or cookie dough scoop to portion the truffle mixture. Roll between hands until smooth and round.

*TIP* keep a bowl of cold water handy while rolling the truffles. If it gets to sticky, dip your hands in the cold water between each truffle.

  1. Roll in freeze-dried strawberry powder or other desired toppings.
  2. Store in an air tight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Best enjoyed at room temperature!
